Our Principal Solicitor, Sharon Payne has over 15 years experience in the legal industry. Since her admission to the NSW Supreme Court as a legal practitioner Sharon has had experience in various litigation fields including roles in some of Australia’s leading commercial and Family law firms. Sharon now practices almost exclusively in Family Law.
Sharon’s background in commercial law and across various jurisdictions is invaluable in assisting her clients with property settlements. Sharon moved from the commercial field into Family Law due to her passion and desire to be of direct assistance to people at this challenging time in their lives. She has a mature and friendly approach which enables her to assist her clients through stressful family law matters. She is particularly interested in assisting victims of domestic violence and is sensitive and empathetic to their needs.
Sharon approaches all matters with a view to negotiating a cost effective, time effective solution with as little stress as possible. In the event that a matter cannot be settled, Sharon is a strong and determined advocate at Court and is committed to obtaining positive outcomes for her clients.
Sharon’s articles and case notes have been published in some of Australia’s leading legal publications. She has also written and edited legal publications for CCH, a leading Australian publisher in the area of Family Law cases and commentary.
Jacqui was admitted as a Solicitor in 2007 and holds a Master of Laws and Legal Practice. She has joined the SPFL team in 2015 and primarily works in our Chatswood office.
We are excited to have her as our Senior Associate due to her vast experience in family law as well as being a qualified and experienced family law mediator. Jacqui has over 9 years of experience as a Solicitor working exclusively in the area of Family Law. She understands that the Family Law process can be difficult and is focused on assisting clients to finalise their matter efficiently and as cost-effective as possible.
As an accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, Jacqui has a particular interest in parenting matters and assisting parents to reach long-term workable solutions that are child-focused.
Lachlan has worked closely with our principal solicitor, Sharon Payne, having commenced work with us in 2011. Since that time, Lachlan has developed a special interest in navigating through the unique issues pertaining to Family Law.
Lachlan was admitted to practice law in NSW in 2014 after graduating from a double-degree at the University of Western Sydney with Honours in 2013, and from the College of Law with a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice in 2014. He is currently undertaking further studies to attain a Masters in Applied Family Law.
Lachlan has also worked as a Research Assistant for a Senior Lecturer of the School of Law at UWS, Doctor Elfriede Sangkuhl for her upcoming book, ‘The History of Taxation in the Twentieth Century.’
He is also a regular contributor to our publications section on our web site.
Lachlan is also a regular sports competitor.
Jonathon joined SPFL in 2015.
He has recently graduated from Macquarie University with a Bachelor of Commerce and Law degree, and will be looking at completing his Practical Legal Training by the end of the year. Jonathon has also had experience in other legal firms as a paralegal before joining SPFL.
Jonathon has a passion for Family Law as well as Tax law, Intellectual Property and Commercial Law.
Ashleigh has graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2012 with a degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice, and from the University of Technology Sydney in 2016 with a Juris Doctor. She has also completed her Graduate Certificate in Professional Legal Practice, and is admitted as a solicitor in the Supreme Court of New South Wales. Ashleigh is also registered as a legal practitioner with the High Court of Australia.
Ashleigh has a keen interest in Family Law, and also has a strong passion for child welfare, having worked for several years in child protection.
Daniel has worked in IT for over 20 years. He started his computer training when he joined IBM. Later he started his own company creating software for the security industry.
He brings to SPFL his IT and managerial skills. He is also in charge of the business development and digital marketing having worked in these areas both as director for his own companies and for major international companies.
Besides his computer skills, he is a creative people person and there is a good chance you will meet him when you visit or call our offices.
